In the doghouse again
That surprising, day-off Friday so a short week and waking up yesterday convinced it was Sunday probably didn’t help) although I AM told the daughter was aware but – as far as I recollect – didn’t remind me. (It’s in the diary (SHARED diary I might add (Wife))). S’life. And having just spent the last three hours in the pub with clients/contacts/daughter doesn’t automatically make it BUSINESS! It was (honest) but you get the drift…
Dinner break
It’s now another two hours later and I think the brain cell(s) are moving offline one by one – at least if a couple of odd actions is anything to go by. And I have almost the whole day’s emails to peruse (posh term for delete the rubbish ones), two tasks left over from yesterday’s urgent to-do list (which were also on Tuesday’s and Monday’s lists so doing well there then) and the suspicion that I may not finish today until very, very late. SEO is going to penalise me for the last sentence. Definitely over 20 words and probably passive case to boot. It’s funny how the more you know about SEO the more you tailor your writing to the SEO rules. And less to set down your own thoughts. Does “readability” vary by person and does my target audience match the profile used to derive the scores? Or do I keep writing looooooooooooooooong rambling sentences as that is “funnier” (in a rant-y sort of way) BECAUSE of the rambling sentences (well I think so anyway)? You tell me… Seriously though, It’s probably easy to write to a standard – but does that make it (i) right and (ii) good? And why do I care? Because I’m like that.
Random heading to game the SEO doghouse
I CARE about the reasons behind the actions and want to know whether the outcome is the one I want. Unless following the rules means Google (other search engines are available) gives me more readers and potentially more clients in which case I’m willing to consider selling my soul to the devil… Note the random carriage return to keep the sentence length to WordPress’s optimum. Clever or wot? I suppose I should be grateful it doesn’t penalise me for long words too, like penalise for example. I REALLY need emojis on this page. Laughing tearful face.
Got two more red lights to go green with the last heading
Laugh? I should think so.

Been here, got the T-shirt
