An okay sort of week

There could be a problem writing this week’s missive. Life and work have, on the whole, been pretty much…

okay.

It’s MUCH more difficult writing about okay than it is about nightmares. Much more…

Nightmare weeks sort of write themselves. Start off, the blood pressure increases and, before you know it, 600-800 words.

S’easy. Do it most of the time.

As any regular followers will have realised by now.

Week that’s going not too bad? Who wants to know about that!?

So let’s talk about my pro bono work – sometimes it seems like it’s taking over my life:

  • Monday. My sheltered housing client – 6 hours and another 2.5 hours yesterday
  • Tuesday. Town Council – 2.5 hours
  • This (bank holiday) weekend? Fareham Music Festival starts Friday about 16.00 and finishes Sunday around 18.00

Still get Monday off though.

Add to this Friday last – full day course – and it’s a wonder I get any work done sometimes.

Oh, forgot to mention today. 3.5 hours networking, 2.5 hours with my life coach and now writing my blog. Ah, and a visit to my osteopath in just under an hour. Hmmm…

Just noticed a tab on this page “Beaver Builder”. Fut the wock is a Beaver Builder? And is it even legal in the UK?

If you know, please let me know as well!

Actually – a very interesting session with my coach this morning. Where I sort of get to coach her.

Or imaginary people based on real situations.

Gives her the opportunity to critique me and she gets to sort something of her own out.

And. She was most complimentary about my style and methods.

Almost enough for my inner demon to not tell me she was just saying it to make me feel better. Really ought to have emojis on this platform.

Sigh.

The coaching learning process reminds me of when I first qualified in the accountancy profession.

Got the envelope (our younger readers may need to google what one of these was (tongue in cheek, honest)), opened it and punched air screaming “YES!!!” or maybe thinking it pretty loudly.

Which is where the journey begins. Think to yourself, how long did it take you before you realised just how little you knew about your profession, other than how to pass exams?

Maybe it’s a just me thing? But pretty quickly you begin to comprehend just how VAST the topic is and how little you really do know.

Could be many people never realise just how little they actually know?

I don’t know. They’re not me so I really cannot tell.

I’ve only realised today that this version of WordPress doesn’t have an underline function in the tool bar. Which, for someone wedded to emphasis by way of italics/bold/underlines reduces the arsenal of special effects by one.

S’life. But not as we know it.

It’s a gorgeous springlike day outside. After what seems like weeks of cold, wind and rain.

Which makes me more cheerful and more cheerful tends to make the aches and pains subside which means it’s easier to keep on top of assignments which means that I may ACTUALLY have May in the same days as the rest of you.

I am immensely busy at the moment but it’s starting to manifest as fees and with any luck the money may start to come in quicker than Lorraine can use it. Not saying that’s going to happen but you do have to have dreams.

Don’t you?

Mine’s that one where you’re upside down naked in a bucket of treacle. Sort of tarot card on steroids. Or is that just too much information?

That’ll do for this week.
