Burning the candle at both ends

But I’ve got the blog to write and a visit to the osteopath (like the garden path but slightly better for my back) to come. And I know that I won’t finish this until after my return. Ho hum.

Highlight of my week

It has to be said (or sad) – someone has told me that meeting me and my daughter was awesome. No one’s ever said that to me before and I really DON’T want to ask how the awesomeness of the meeting splits between Die Tochter and me. I have a suspicion I know the answer and, if so, let’s not make too much effort to find out… Meanwhile I’m seriously thinking of a cut and paste into the website testimonial page. Bewildered looking face with finger on chin (please get me my emojis WordPress). Puts a touch of swagger in the walk. Just going outside to walk on water. Back in a while.

I jest

The giveaway is the medieval hat with jingling bells on it and a bladder on a stick. Actually that reminds me of Monty Python sketches from all to many years ago (Monty who???). Actually I lie (if you will forgive me for the overuse of “actually”) – Blackadder. You don’t have to be QUITE as old to remember that (1983-1989 it was aired) and Rowan Atkinson and Tony Robinson are still very much around in the media. Series II and III for the connoisseurs – never even got on with series I and series IV was not my favourite although many others swore by it. Tick tock, tick tock. Soon time for my four weekly neck and back remodelling (proper English spelling here – it’s not speling in American is it??? so why remodeling?). Maybe I ought to apologise for the previous paragraph. The punctuation seems to have broken out in hives. See you in a while…

Back again

Which I wrote before I went to make sure I didn’t forget about it! And I’ve also had a client matter get in the way as well. One that will have consequences. But I’m pretty sure the client will not be aware of the pitfall. This is where I get really annoyed with the tax authorities. Client has – indisputably – broken the law. But without the sort of knowledge I have I doubt most business people would be aware of it. But it is still a breech of the law and could lead to a penalty. And of course I’m the one who has to break the news… It’s a wonder anyone has trusted adviser status any more. And the real “beauty” of the situation? Certain things will change and other people will do the opposite in their records so overall – nothing changes. Can you make it up more complicated than this? Sits glumly and decides to knock off now as it’s an early dinner before the final appointment mentioned above. Times like this make it all worth while. He lied…

burning the candle

A representation of the storm inside my own head…
