Networking or notworking
Lunchtime when your business or employer pays for both direction’s travel time. It’s why I’m only starting writing this in the evening (but at least on the usual day which is a step up from last week) and it’s anyone’s guess when I’ll have time to complete it. Having decided to stop working at 22.50 (I kid you not) unless there are exceptional circumstances.
I’ve been networking at lunchtime today
which you’ve probably guessed from the writing so far and with a visit to my osteopath afterwards – not intentional, just the way things pan out – that was six hours of today gone walkabout. And you get back, feeling beaten up and wondering how you can justify not doing anything else when you get back. Until you turn it round and ask yourself why you’d want to ruin the osteopathy session by DOING some work…
So nap time it was
And it’s time to stop for today.
Well that worked well then. Networking breakfast, November’s billing and completing my Institute Annual Return and a little chill (long enough to eat in any case, etc.) and it’s 22.30 the following day! The return was due today and it’s anybody’s guess how I managed to remember. The initial email came in long before discovering Followupthen or Logical Office so it was just lurking in the email backlog. Still, found it, dealt with it and filed it. One less thing to worry about… If I’d had time this week I was going to write a more serious post – so luckily (for you?) I didn’t. Bulging eye emoji. But if I had I’d maybe have written about my concerns on the future of work. When I were a lad, everyone assumed we’d be working three hour days and having umpteen weeks holiday by the “21st Century”. Hasn’t worked out that way, has it?
