Poets’ day
Friday – p… off early tomorrow’s Saturday.
So WHY am I even starting my blog at nearly 22.30?
Coz I got busy earlier in the week, that’s why. Two days of virtually wall-to-wall meetings (including a visit to the dentist and the hygienist which gouged two and a half hours out of yesterday, travel time included).
So my normal blogging time was spent driving to the dentist and sitting in her chair. I have to say I’m not a major fan of dentists. Oh, the idea’s fine and I wouldn’t be without one (certainly not after what needed to be done through not registering during my university years) but I’ve always had sensitive teeth and gums and a childhood dentist scared me witless with showing me all the instruments in his possession.
I kid you not.
I still cannot decide whether he was a sadist or just trying to explain what the tools were to a very frightened little boy. Mum moved dentists just after this incident so I suspect I can guess.
Learned three new things about coaching in my latest session with Becki:
- You’re allowed to coach yourself!
- It’s polite to ask permission before switching to coaching mode outside of a work environment, and
- I’m a natural at coaching (or Becki’s a very good liar and my inferiority complex is taking a well earned rest)…
The first came as a complete surprise. Don’t know why I have to say. I suppose if I stop and think about it there’s no particular reason why not.
But it was and it was a total eye opener.
Came with a caveat though – you ARE required to listen to your answers…
So it’s now twenty minutes later and that’s good enough for one week. Time for a few emails?
