Apart from the fact that the Annual Return is being abolished (hurray) it’s being replaced by the Confirmation Statement (boo) which has 90% of the existing return plus a new section on persons of significant control (PSCs) so isn’t easier at all. PSCs will probably be your directors and that’s it for smaller entities but will get immensely more complicated with some larger businesses owned by non-resident persons or companies. However (and a big however) it will be policed by exception – Companies House will believe what you tell them unless someone tells them otherwise. I really do understand this – imagine the complications if they had to PROVE what was filed… Ah well, shorter than what everyone says it should be but a Wieninger Hefe Weissbier is attracting my attention so I feel I really must give it the attention it deserves.
