The light at the end of the tunnel – or an oncoming train?
such a difference) and comparing the answer with what was left for the current year seemed eminently plausible and in it went. I have to say though that the last few days have been a definite struggle due to the weather. I’m not a winter person, especially if that involves sitting at my desk with freezing air (apparently) rolling over my feet. It ruins the concentration, especially if outside is minus 4 or 5 and I’m losing all sensation in my toes. Remember the ice cube challenge of a year or two ago? Well that’s my feet at the best of times, let alone when it actually is sub-zero out there. I’m sat on (not literally, that would be uncomfortable) the definitive 2015/16 tax data cards. It did not help at all the enactment of the Finance Bill so close to Christmas that the cards were received in the holidays and, surprise surprise, the tax returns keep taking priority. Which is a shame as they are remarkably useful as advertising, both to clients and introducers – not so sure about the younger generation but so many of the recipients were brought up with paper and a little card to look up simple tax data goes down soooo well. Aside – the b100dy spellchecker on WordPress or Chrome is completely useless. So far this week I’ve had to add “introducers” and “enquiring” which do not strike me as particularly exotic words, but then, who am I to say… Ten days to go to the tax return deadline and there are still two people who haven’t produced ANY information at all. All I can say is that the weenies (which paradoxically is in the spellchecker) are definitely out there and they are trying to get us.]]>
