The video is done

The video is done. Out there and presented.

I did have my doubts but after scripting the footage straight off – on my day off – and recording it at midnight up on the roof terrace last Friday.

With a presentation to be given today 09.00 UK, 10.00 here.

Oh me of little faith.

I had it back in my hands on Monday.

Maybe not the final, final version but who will know? Unless they read this.

But obviously deadlines fire up the adrenaline in  some people.

So next time – oh yes, there will be a next time – maybe I’ll give you a fortnight’s warning instead of three months, Andy…

Oh yes and reshooting parts of the footage on Sunday. Forgot that. Almost.

The video quality is excellent.

Given that we originally shot back in June and the replay quality was ‘patchy’ at best, the few tweaks we did to my iPhone made a world of difference.

There was a degree of trepidation on my part when reshooting. I so wanted it to be a phone issue rather than incompetence of the operator.

And luckily it was, because otherwise the project might have been quietly packed out in the long grass.

The video is done!

It’s now three hours later having done the above before going out to lunch with the guy downstairs, who sold this property to us, and his wife.

Before too many people start the rolling of the eyes, lunch was only about two hours.

It’s a small price to pay for using his property expertise to scope out the next few changes/enhancements we want to consider next. Here’s the next few:

  • Hard wire the internet and find somewhere quiet for the RAID disks to live (or somewhere we can mask the sound of the RAID disks)
  • Solar power and replace the gas boiler with an electric one (300 days a year sun minimum, why wouldn’t you?)
  • Toilet on the floor with the terraza

All value enhancing as well as good to have.

The video is done.

Don’t know if you noticed, RAID disks is like PIN number. It should ‘strictly’ be RAI disks or PI number as one of the letters represents the additional word.

There is a proper term for this.

Ah, found it! RAS syndrome. Which is itself a RAS syndrome as the ‘S’ stands for

Well, you get what I mean…

Other online dictionaries are available.

I’m struggling to get going again today.

I’ve come off the high of the presentation this morning and lunch was easy and fun and I know I’ve got Duolingo to do in an hour before we go out again in two.

Coz it’s Thursday and Thursday is of course one of our dining out nights.

And Friday’s my day off so my brain reckons that, if it checks out quietly, no one will notice.

Well I have and it can bloody well get back here!

But I do need a vegetate. He says having noun-ed a verb.

I know Americans are defined as speaking a language where any noun can be verb-ified but I’m choosing to go the other way.

So I’m going to bail out here. Much shorter than the last few.

But at least the video is done.

And if you want to watch please do:

And let me know what you think. Unless you’re jealous. Because I know what you think if you’re jealous…
