Didn’t get a walk today

Didn’t get a walk today – it’s been chucking it down seems like forever.

But my head started remembering something and, after a bit of research, that something was:

When that I was and a little tiny boy…

When that I was and a little tiny boy,
With hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
A foolish thing was but a toy,
For the rain it raineth every day.

But when I came to man’s estate,
With hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
‘Gainst knaves and thieves men shut the gate,
For the rain it raineth every day.

But when I came, alas! to wive,
With hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
By swaggering could I never thrive,
For the rain it raineth every day.

But when I came unto my beds,
With hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
With toss-pots still had drunken heads,
For the rain it raineth every day.

A great while ago the world begun,
With hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
But that’s all one, our play is done,
And we’ll strive to please you every day.

Not saying I’m a Shakespeare but I’m happy to borrow from Twelfth Night – whether Will wrote the refrain or not.

Not a bad philosophy for life in a way. Maybe closely related to “All the world’s a stage” (or a stafe as I originally typed, oddly not in the spellchecker…).

Here’s a thought – if only there was a way of collecting the damned stuff, the UK could export it to the rest of the world!

It’s a funny old life.

Some weeks are definitely doing weeks and some are not.

This week ought to be a doing week what with deadlines, etc. but it most definitely is NOT.

Three – sorry four if you count town council – meetings this week and a networking morning have taken up around 16 hours which doesn’t leave a lot left over.

Not that I’m objecting (too much) – the less use of the keyboard and the computer screen the better but I do have to do so sometimes.

Took the “big talk” out on the road again this morning.

Down to the wilds of East Dorset.

Lovely venue and lovely people – well they were sufficiently kind to say they appreciated the talk which counts in my book.

And three of you might be reading this so I can’t be too rude – can I???

In a golf club. I’m always reminded of Mark Twain’s adage about golf.

No? A good walk ruined…

There’s a touch of blue sky outside now, but it’s too late to go out for a walk now and the time for the nap is creeping up.

This whole talk to blog to book thing would take over my life if I let it.

And maybe I need to let it do so – otherwise I shall procrastinate it away…

That’s a thought…

I forgot to mention something in my talk today.

Only problem is Lorraine has just come in and I’ve absolutely no idea what it was.

And then a phone call…

What was it?

Not a clucking foo.

Sorry.

Nap time, not walk time.

Well the idea was there.

But the execution sucks.

Duly napped but still nothing, although I’ve now used about 100 words to not let you know something against the couple of hundred I was expecting to use to tell you what it was.

If that makes any sense at all.

So, just over a week until we go and visit Die Tochter in Gibraltar. Although I suppose I ought to call her la hija as she seems to be spending a lot of time over the border in España.

Can’t find a tilde in the WordPress character set but I have accidentally found something else 😁 I can do emojis in the blog!!!

Long suffering readers will have noticed me spelling out emojis in the past because I didn’t have a clue how to do them.

And I find them by accident trying to find out how to do an accent in a foreign word.

S’life

Jim, but not as we know it.
