Back to the grindstone

  • back to insufficient sleep
  • jet lag (may or may not overlap with sleep point above)
  • keyboards and squinting at computer screens
  • Oh! Forgot car driving – hadn’t touched a steering wheel in over two weeks
  • days that don’t seem to have as many hours as those in the USA, etc.
  • I wouldn’t consider taking the laptop with me was a necessity but it did mean that when a client’s data failed a software transfer I could resend the data to the computer people. Along with a couple of rather rude emails but there we are… Was a bit loath to do a couple of other things that might have made my life easier in the long run from a network address in the USA in view of the Safe Harbour provisions regarding computer data. Probably nothing to worry about but you never can tell. Anyone out there able to tell me whether I should have been concerned or not? Aren’t smartphones useful – came back to 200 emails that needed something doing about – the other 1,000-1,200 were dealt with on the spot. Ditto social media – Twitter and Instagram kept on top of, LinkedIn up to date and the Facebook page I’ve inherited from daughter ticking over mostly. So what have I done in the week to date? Sometimes I do wonder. Monday and Tuesday went walkabout. Monday vanished into making a start on the 200 remaining and an executive meeting for my sheltered housing client. Three meetings on Tuesday – taking travel into account, departed for first one at 09.00 and got back from final one at approaching 21.00. Useful meetings all but I would not have chosen to do all three in the same day with the benefit of a little hindsight! Two of those meetings had a lot to do with personal development and branding so watch this space… Come visit my website for more about what I do and sign up for my useful newsletter. Always happy to talk and a first meeting (up to an hour) is always without charge. manhattan-566667_1920]]>
