Whither weather and whether it matters

Whither, weather, whether. Not sure that’s got anything to do with today’s ramblings but it will sure please the internal SEO for this post.

Tempted to quit while I’m ahead…

Wind is presently out of the east. Along with north, my least favourite quadrant weather-wise.

I don’t do cold and I don’t do damp but – in general – I can survive damp so cold is the winter weather I like least.

Especially as my office window faces sort of northeast so a cold easterly breeze chills the outside walls and soon pervades through this room as it really doesn’t get direct sunlight except first thing of a morning and not at all in winter ‘coz the garage gets in the way…

I really need an emoji of a man wearing thermal socks. Musing face emoji.

And static electricity.

I do seem to be the target of static electric – a combination no doubt of the furry socks and man-made fibre (NOT fiber, spellchecker) in the carpets.

So on a truly bad day my feet freeze and I get electric shocks off the bl00dy house!

Ah well. Not long to the days getting longer again. Conversely or additionally, not as long till they start getting shorter again.

I REALLY need to cheer up.

The high point of a rapidly departing week was our trip to the city of Bath for our daughter’s graduation ceremony.

Finally she has her degree. Open mouth emoji.

Only a year and a half behind her peers.

Lots of people I’ve known over the years have tried to become eternal students but for this girl it just sort of happened.

Of course, being OUR daughter she had to just scrape it back in time from five weeks in New Zealand with less than a day to spare but, hey, I never expected anything less!

So what else?

I’m currently trying to guess whether I’ve still got my man flu or whether I’ve now caught something else. Definitely under the weather. Bulging eyes emoji.

I’m more and more regretting not having taken a day or two recuperation a few weeks ago as it’s looking less and less likely that I’ll have time to do so between now and the end of tax return season.

Own fault, can’t blame anyone else.

Sadly…

At least I had the opportunity to have a walk today – albeit a rather chilly walk as I forgot to take the woolly hat and couldn’t be bothered to go back for it – and Bath was nice and hilly so that got the arteries and veins working too.

And some nice food too, even if we must have had the slowest ever pizza lunchtime yesterday.

Very pleasant but I’m not convinced we couldn’t have grown it quicker!

Biker chick has just got in.

Ah well, there goes peace and quiet for the rest of the day but we have been married for 37 years now so we obviously have evolved a way of putting up with each other.

Well, no one has killed the other one.

Yet. Tearful laughing face emoji.

And finally bizarre client meeting #327

Don’t have meetings where the client has their three(?) year old present.

After a while you really think you’ve lost the will to live.

In the cafe at a fitness centre, next to the soft play area, where said child is having “disagreements” with someone else’s child, where said child started it first and does not understand why the other retaliated.

Want to know what really concerned me? Parent left the crusts of their sandwich!

How can you convince your scion to eat theirs???

I’d have been toast if my mother had seen me leave my crusts.

Sorry. Couldn’t resist it.

Do you know which side your bread is buttered? Weather the storm
